The title to the entry is "an Esse state of "mine", or an Esse weekend, or last but not least,  Esse does it!

Here is the travel log of our exciting, adventurous, rewarding, challenging and exhilarating weekend in La Porte,

Indiana, for a UKC Show, on May 7 & 8.

I had stopped to pick up two lovely red sable long coated Russian/Russkiy Toy dogs in Roanoke, VA, on this Friday,

so I arrived late afternoon.

Anki and I left the SWGH aka, small wonders guest house, on Friday evening about 7pm. We took an unplanned

detour (not paying attention to road signs) and arrived La Porte at 4am.

Fast forward, with little sleep and a mission ahead of us, with the dogs, we arrived at the show site.  It was a small

show, but the club and its members were very helpful, and directed us to a nearby camp ground for Saturday night.

Okay, you are on the edge of your seat, wondering about the show itself.  All the dogs entered as Russkiy Toys

were from the aReLeTTe kennel.  Helayne Parker and Robin Fullerton met us there with Anatoly a

puppy dog and Ruby, a champion with 2 legs towards her grand championship title.

Anki and I brought Esse(easy) a puppy bitch, Yashma and Zuar, also champions, with legs towards their

grand championship titles, and Pasha and Matisse both grand champions.

Anatoly won class dog, Yashma won champion of champions, and Matisse took grand champions winner.

Yashma won best of breed for the first show.

However the worm turned and on the second show, Esse, who was only one day older then needed to qualify to be

shown, at 6m 1d, not only won her class, but continued to beat out the champions and the grand champions.

When giving her the breed over the more accomplished winners,  the judge said the win was even a greater honor

as she  personally preferred long coated RT dogs. Esse went on to  a group three win.  How shocked and delighted

we all were. (Confession is good for the soul, and it is true, it was her first time on a show lead, oh yeah, her first

time on any leash.) She was a natural.  The kind of show dog we all want to own at one time in our lives.

All the dogs presented at the two shows, this Saturday, walked away with some award and recognition.

Esse, was the surprise of the day.

Now we moved on to the camp ground, and with much rain having fallen, and more to come, we tried to park our

R-Pod at a "too" remote site.  Bad choice on our part!  We got ready to turn around, only to find the wet leaves

and the mud were more then willing to hold us captive.  Fortunately, the campground sent out two young and

equally foolish men to assist us in extricating our SUV and camper from the mud.  The video is priceless.!

They ended up manually moving the camper into a better position so they could pull us from the mud.

What a laugh they must have had after the fact.

Okay, now parked in a proper camping spot, we faced the next day with eagerness.

What a nice panel of judges for the 4 shows.  They were all interested in learning a bit more about the breed

after having judged them and complimented the dogs we presented.  They took time to evaluate their strengths

and weaknesses, which is so helpful to breeders and handlers.  We don't get better dogs by being kennel blind.

aReLeTTe wants our efforts with the RT breed to stand up to the various judge, we present our dogs too.

It was Esse again and again on the second day, winning over the other RT's.  Taking Best of Breed, a Group 1,

a Best of Breed, and a Group 2.  All the judges complimented what a sound and wonderful little

bitch she is, and that her confidence level was much beyond her age.  At one point in the showing, with a

photographer taking candid shots, she stopped to look in the direction of the camera. My guess is to cash in on

a "photo op", and then continued to move around the ring.  The judge mentioned it to me after the judging and

was laughing about her brief, but well timed hesitation.

Esse is now a finished champions in three shows, with a leg towards her grand championship.

She is now the youngest RT to finish her championship, with a leg towards her grand championship in the U.S.

Yashma has a leg towards her grand championship, Ruby is one leg closer to her grand, and Zuar received two

legs, so he only needs one more to finish his run for grand championship.  So it was a weekend with ups and

mud, but the dogs reigned and we are encouraged that we are moving the breed forward and improving the

overall quality n temperament, soundness and movement.

We say: "Thank you", to all the judges and enthusiasts of theRusskiy/Russian Toy breed.

End of travel log.

In 2007, “History was made” !! Hrustalnaya Mechta Cenitel Prekrasnogo, co-owned by aReLeTTe, became number 1 ranked All-Breed dog in the US (ARBA Nov.2007). What a record !

* Over 100 Best of Breeds,

* 50 + Group 1s – 3s

* All Breed Best in Shows

* 11 Reserve Best in Shows.

* He became ARBA's first Master champion

* NAKC's only Grand Champion (at the time)

He was shown in three different venues, NAKC, ARBA & IABCA while being campaigned. Russian Toy was recognized by these three venues only, at that time.

* He become the first Russian Toy, as number 3 ranked All-breed dog with Rarities, and their number 1 Toy dog.

* At the same time he ranked number 2 for the year end standing with ARBA, and their number 1 Toy dog.

H.M. Cenitel Prekrasnogo ended his show career before the age of 3. It was well worth our money in promoting this wonderful breed in the United States.
